I fall asleep and snore during beauty treatments such as massages & facials. Should I be embarrasssed??

When I get beauty treatments done, I like to be relaxed. I don't plan to fall asleep but thats what happens. Take the other day, my roommates %26amp; I went for pedicures. I close my eyes and get relaxed (that's what I remember). They tell me once I fall asleep my mouth pops open %26amp; I start snoring really loud. (I am a mouth breather who snores). They say the serene peaceful environment has been invaded by a SNORING LOUD GROWLING BEAR!!! They say people laugh at me, get angry due to all the noise. I'm not trying to be insenstive, but I've paid my money, so what with the sound?? Do you agree?? Shouldn't I be left alone?

1. Have you ever seen someone sleep %26amp; snore during beauty treatments (patrons, massage therapists, etc.)

2. If a massage therapist, etc., did you finish the treatment or pretend you did?

3. What would your reaction to the snoring be? (patron, massage therapist?I fall asleep and snore during beauty treatments such as massages %26amp; facials. Should I be embarrasssed??
No you shouldn't feel embarrassed. This is expected and one of the best compliments. It means you trust your therapist, you are comfortable, you are relaxed and when you wake, you will be rejuvenated.

As a massage therapist I never quit a treatment because they fell asleep. It can be felt when they wake, they will feel off balance (one leg is more relaxed than the other, etc).

If someone began snoring, I would just smile. It's cute when you are a therapist, as opposed to being a wife trying to sleep next to a snorer. ;) Hope that helps.I fall asleep and snore during beauty treatments such as massages %26amp; facials. Should I be embarrasssed??
I think you should feel deeply sorry for the person massaging you. You should feeel extremely sorry and embarrassed.

I'm a beauty therapist and have just found out i'm pregnant. Should I perform aromatherapy massages/facials?

I have just found out that i'm pregnant - 7 weeks. The only problem is I am a beauty therapist and I perform aromatherapy massages and facials on clients every day. I know I shouldn't do massage on clients if they are pregnant so I was wondering how it affects me and for how long??? I can't seem to find information anywhere on the internet and when I asked my doctor they made out as if I should know.

Please help????!!?!!!!I'm a beauty therapist and have just found out i'm pregnant. Should I perform aromatherapy massages/facials?
This probably isn't an issue as long as you're comfortable. Just pay attention to your body. As far as the oils...they should form no threat to you or your baby.I'm a beauty therapist and have just found out i'm pregnant. Should I perform aromatherapy massages/facials?
You should not use aromatherapy oils whilst your pregnant, being a beauty therapist you should know that some oils can actually increase the cances of you micarrying i.e jasmine oil. and working with the oils you apsorb the oils you work with through your skin too.

You should be able to find good reference beauty therapy books on aromathrapy from your local library. Or refer back to your notes from collage.
I found this link for you to take a look at it sounds as if it will be ok to me but some oils may be to strong.I am not up on this medical so had to look for you sorry.congratulations by the way

Listen to Bambi. That's what i was going to say. You should know that they are certain oils you can't inhale while pregnant. Be careful AND tell your boss!

I am 6 weeks pregnant and a beauty therapist. Is it safe for me to continue giving full body massages?

yes, it's fineI am 6 weeks pregnant and a beauty therapist. Is it safe for me to continue giving full body massages?
yesI am 6 weeks pregnant and a beauty therapist. Is it safe for me to continue giving full body massages?
I would say yes as long as your are comfortable. My last massage was performed by a pregnant woman 7-months along.
yes i am a hair stylist, and i am still working, and i am 1 cm dilated, 70 percent effaced, and she has dropped this is my 2nd time doing this too. and speaking of.......lol, what is the part of your foot to massage to put you into labor????

Do you think opening a beauty business would work do people really want facials and massages?

who doesnt want facials and massages? The thing is, you need to be aware that some people dont want to spend thier money on facials and etc, since the price of everything is going up. Also, it depends on the area, are most of the poeple there well off or not.. How much are you willing to charge them.. and ofcourse, whats so special about your beauty buisness.. because where i live, there are a billion beauty buisnesses, but theyre all the same. Yours needs to have something unique to attract people.Do you think opening a beauty business would work do people really want facials and massages?
Yeah sure, but be careful, alot of people have less disposable income now. the first thing people cut back on is things like that.Do you think opening a beauty business would work do people really want facials and massages?
Yes, people are still getting facials and massage, but less these days with the economy in the state it's in.

If you have no experience in these fields, don't open a business. You will regret it...it's a very different area!! The woman who owns the spa where I work has no experience in massage, nails or estetics and it shows!
Heck yea people want it i know i could be sitting with my mom and she will say i really want to go get a massage and stuff like that! So yea people want it!
The thing about facials and massages is getting people to try them the first time. Once they do, many get hooked, but it really is hard getting people to make the initial splurge. I do have a freind who is an aesthetitician who does a nice business with both facials and massages, but she does it out of her home, so she has little overhead, and it took YEARS to build up her clientelle. The past year I've notice quite a few local day spas in my area have closed, but I'd suspect the market in my area is just oversaturated.

If you came up with a great marketing scheme and terrific advartising, both of which are expensive, you could get yourself a solid customer base, but you'd have to really come up with some clever ways of getting people to come tp you.

Beauty Therapists!! just wondering how many massages half hour and hour u have to give a day?

some days my boss makes me do about 6 hours massaging..im ****** from it! is there any law or limit?Beauty Therapists!! just wondering how many massages half hour and hour u have to give a day?
I hope you're licensed.

The AMTA defines ';full time'; as 17 - 22 hours of massage per week. If you're doing more, you can injure yourself.Beauty Therapists!! just wondering how many massages half hour and hour u have to give a day?
There's no legal limit. You'll have to talk to your boss about lowering your work load. If you are an employee as opposed to an independant contractor you may be required to get breaks, check with your state labor board. 6 Hours a day is not that manyunless you're working on big people or athletes, check your body mechanics, work smarter not harder. I do between 2 and 9 hours a day depending on the day 6 days a week.
. YOU make your own limit.

If you can't limit the number of rubs, limit the force so you won't be so tired.

Pace yourself.

Many of the large gym chains in London have got treatment centres like that available for men. You can get waxing, massages and relaxation treatments. They are used by a lot of men, not just women, and they welcome male customers. For many of these you do not even have to be a member - just phone their reception desk ..I am looking for a proper beauty centre for men in London, where to do things like body massage, any ideas?
